What we cover
Chicago is the freight crossroads of North America, and the businesses that run trucks through it have very little local coverage written for them. Trucking News Chicago fills that gap with reporting and analysis on Chicagoland carriers, CDL driver jobs and pay, freight and spot-rate conditions, FMCSA and Illinois regulation, safety, and the technology fleets actually use.
We write for fleet owners, operations and safety managers, driver recruiters, owner-operators and company drivers across Chicago, the collar counties and the I-55, I-80, I-90 and I-94 corridors.
Ownership
Trucking News Chicago is owned and published by CDL Agency, a truck driver recruiting and marketing agency headquartered at 1280 Townline Rd, Mundelein, IL 60060. CDL Agency funds the newsroom. It does not sell subscriptions or charge for access.
Stories about CDL Agency, its Onboard platform or its clients are labeled Company News in the section tag and carry an "About the company" box. We publish them because they are relevant to the Chicago hiring market, and we label them so readers can weigh them accordingly.
Editorial standards
- Facts are sourced. Numbers, prices and dates come from named sources, linked in the story. We do not publish estimates dressed up as statistics.
- Company coverage is labeled. Anything about our publisher is marked Company News. Sponsored content, if we ever run it, will be marked Sponsored.
- Quotes are real. We quote people from interviews, public statements or their own published material, and we attribute them.
- We separate news from analysis. Analysis and market pieces say so in the byline area and in the story itself.
- We do not run press releases verbatim. Announcements are rewritten, checked and put in context.
Corrections
When we get something wrong we fix it in the story and note the change with an "Updated" date in the byline. Material corrections are explained at the bottom of the story. To report an error, email andrius@cdlagency.com with the story link and what needs correcting.
